Kendrick Lamar Becomes First Rapper With Three Consecutive Albums on the Billboard Top 10

‘GNX,’ ‘DAMN.’ and ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ have rounded out the top ten of the Billboard 200.

He’s made hip-hop history numerous times, but Kendrick Lamar isn’t done.

According to a new “Billboard” report, the 22-time Grammy winner has amassed three simultaneous albums in the top ten of the Billboard 200 this week. In becoming the first rapper to achieve the feat, the accomplishment comes just one week after Kendrick headlined the Super Bowl LIX Apple Music Halftime Show.

Returning to the top of the chart includes Kendrick’s latest album, “GNX” at No. 1, along with his 2017 LP “DAMN.” at No. 9 and his 2012 commercial debut, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” at No. 10. The last artist to have at least three albums in the top ten was Kendrick’s “Bad Blood” collaborator Taylor Swift in December 2023, while the late Prince was the last male artist to have at least three consecutive albums in the top 10 following his death in April 2016.

Shortly after “GNX” dropped ahead of Thanksgiving last November, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated December 7, 2024.

In addition to Kendrick, special guests Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Mustard, and Serena Williams also appeared during the pgLang-produced Super Bowl LIX halftime performance.
