Yo Gotti Says Hip-Hop Hasn’t Been The Same Since the COVID Pandemic Hit
Yo Gotti is doing some reflecting on the business he’s a major player in.
During a recent interview with Los Angeles’ Power 106, the Memphis rapper and CMG Records boss said the current state of hip-hop is “semi-boring,” claiming the COVID pandemic played a huge part in that.

"The rap game right now is semi-boring," Gotti said after being asked whether he thinks much of rap is homogenous. "Exactly," he said. "I just feel like, since COVID, they put us in side and we never came out. The energy ain't been the same. I feel like mentally we been inside."
Also, during the interview, Yo Gotti also discussed his latest project, the Gangsta Grillz collaborative mixtape I Showed U So, which he said he hopes helps bring back the energy he believes hip-hop lacks.
