Lil Wayne and Karen Civil Team Up for Haiti Holidays Initiative

500 Haitian children were present for the charitable event.

Lil Wayne is in the holiday spirit and recently donated a ton of goodies to kids in Haiti.

As part of a partnership between Karen CivilTrukfit and the Scholastic Corporation, each of the 500 children in attendance were given an outfit from Weezy’s Trukfit clothing line and an exclusive KC New Era hat. Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto also surprised kids by dressing up as Santa Claus and passed out toys.

Wayne did not make the trip, however Civil did and her main focus during her time in there was stressing the importance of literacy, education and fun. She’s also known for the playground her charity helped create in Pétionville within Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Lil Wayne recently commented on the hardships people around the world face rather than having happy holidays and explained why he gave to the kids in Haiti.

"A lot of people tend to forget about those who are less fortunate during the holiday season, not many understand how receiving just one item could bring so much joy to a child's life, especially if they don't have the same everyday luxuries that the more fortunate tend to overlook,” he said via a press release. “I'm just grateful to be able to give back to Haiti in any way possible."
