Watch an Exclusive Clip From Trevor Jackson's Upcoming Film, 'Burning Sands'
Becoming a member of a Greek organization remains an aspiration for many college students, especially within the HBCU community. However, the hazing that some endure during the pledging process is considered a taboo topic that's yet to be explored on-screen, until now.
Trevor Jackson, Moonlight's Trevante Rhodes and Hollywood icon Alfre Woodard join forces to bring that narrative to life in the new Netflix film Burning Sands.
In the exclusive clip, Zurich (Jackson), a pledge, is seen walking along campus with professor Hughes (Woodard), who urges him to speak up against the hazing practices within his fraternity of interest after noticing he is injured.
However, his hesitations kick in after he begins to have reservations about being the savior for his fellow pledges.
Take a look, below:
The movie first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and became a topic of conversation as it tackles the unspoken hazing rituals of Greek life including humiliation, abuse and ridicule.
Burning Sands will launch on Netflix on March 10.
