Black Twitter Massacres Spike Lee During #AskSpike Q&A
Spike Lee has been everywhere lately doing press for his upcoming film Chi-Raq, and on Wednesday he thought it would be a good idea to partner with The Root for an #AskSpike Twitter session.
Wrong move, boss.
As soon as Black Twitter caught wind of the session, all shade broke loose. Spike got the drag-ation of his life by people who don't exactly see eye to eye with his cinematic vision. Chi-Raq, of course, is making a lot of folks angry because of its seeming focus on Black-on-Black crime.
Things got so bad that 10 minutes into the session, Spike's Twitter mysteriously "went down" and the Q&A had to be rescheduled. When he came back a few hours later, though, the dragging picked up right where it left off.
