Having returned from his charitable trip to Africa earlier this month, 50 Cent says he has a new point of view on life. The G-Unit general toured impoverished regions of Kenya and Somalia with the UN's World Food Program and ABC's Nightline and says what he saw there had an impact on him.
"It enlightened me in different ways," Fif said in an interview with the Associated Press. "To actually see people under the circumstances that I saw was a totally different experience. I don't think you can prepare yourself for that, no matter how many times you've seen the images."

The rapper and businessman went on the trip to promote his Street King line of energy drinks, partial proceeds of which go to providing meals to hungry children. While visiting one school in Nairobi, 50 said he was particularly moved by the resilience of kids that he encountered.
"They have one meal a day, the same meal every day," he said. "There's nothing there — within their eyes and the way that they interacted with each other — that would indicate that they feel deprived in any way. They are the exact kids that you would see here, and that was so confusing. It made you want to pick them up and take them home with you, but you can't. ... So you have to do something that makes a difference."

The Street King campaign has a stated goal of providing one billion meals over the next five years. Since its launch last fall, 50 says his company has provided over 3.5 million meals.
