Rick Ross, Redfoo Still Battling Over 'Party Rock Anthem'
Rick Ross and Redfoo of LMFAO still have a ways to go before they can reach common ground in a lawsuit over “Party Rock Anthem.”
As previously reported, Rozay is suing the former music duo for using the phrase, “Every day I’m shufflin’,” which the rapper argues is a knockoff of his “Every day I’m hustlin'" line. A judge decided last week that Ross’s lawsuit will not be dismissed, however the parties can’t reach common ground on a potential mediation.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Redfoo, aka Stefan Gordy, filed a motion to “take the lead in the mediation,” meaning that “defendants will be looking to him to either resolve the matter or to continue litigation.”
Ross isn’t on board with the idea. His lawyer filed a response stating in part that the Redfoo's attempt to “single-handedly wrest control over the mediation process” is “disturbing.”
Legal documents go on to state that Ross believes Redfoo hasn't been keeping his nephew and ex group member, Sky Blu (née Skyler Gordy), abreast on the legal happenings. Ross claims Sky Blu threw him under the bus in a legal deposition, and wants to make sure it’s mandatory that he attends the mediation, scheduled for later this month.
