The Rapper Who Wrote the McDonald's Jingle Will Blow Your Mind
It is no argument that the McDonald's jingle is one of the most legendary earworms of our time.
It's almost impossible to hear "ba da ba ba ba" without following it with the rest of the hook, "I'm loving it."
While everyone can name the lyrics and sing the tune with ease, it wasn't until this week that people could put a name to the writer confirmed to be behind the iconic jingle, and we can all thank Steve Stoute for revealing this mind-blowing trivia fact.
During an on-air conversation at Hot 97 with Ebro and company, Stoute revealed that Pusha T is the mysterious man behind the brilliant McDonald's song.
“Our first big thing was launching ‘I’m Lovin It’ for McDonalds, that was in 2004,” Stoute said, referencing the marketing company he founded, Translation.
Ebro then jumped in to share that he thought everyone assumed Pharrell and Justin Timberlake to be the ones who created the song, but Stoute stood firm that it was Pusha.
“You know who did that?" he said. "Pusha T. That’s crazy that Pusha T wrote the song for McDonald's. I can’t remember the money [received]. It was 11 years ago. Nobody was upset.”
Mind. Blown.
