Justin Timberlake Debuts "Take Back the Night" Video

JT dances his way around New York City.

Justin Timberlake is a dancing machine, and New York City is his backdrop in the video for "Take Back the Night." On Tuesday (July 30) JT unveiled the visual for the lead single off The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2, the premise of which is based around the title.

Starting in Chinatown and ending on stage at Yankee Stadium (footage pulled from the Legends of the Summer tour), the Tennessee native moves and croons his way through a night in the city that never sleeps. On the journey he engages in a dance battle with a pint-size performer and two-steps at a club.

The upbeat video mirrors the J-Roc and Timbaland-produced single's energy. Released on July 12, "Take Back the Night" was revealed in the same similarly teasing manner as "Suit & Tie," but caused way more controversy. Women's rights group Take Back the Night contemplated suing the newlywed over the song title and lyrics deemed "very sexual and not all clearly anti-violence."

Timberlake said he wasn't aware of Take Back the Night before writing the song, and now the organization has backed off. "At this point, we're going down gracefully, and accept that fighting this in court probably isn't the best use of anyone's time," Executive Director Katherine Koestner said in a written statement to BuzzFeed.

"Mostly it was shocking that an institution that goes back to 1973 went unnoticed by the likes of Justin Timberlake," she added. "It shows how much visibility we really need."

JT hasn't offered a rebuttal to Koestner.

Fans can grab The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2 on September 30. Timberlake will set out on a 20/20 Experience World Tour starting October 31 in Montreal.
