OAK BLUFFS, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama and his family are heading to the wealthy island resort of Martha's Vineyard for a three-week vacation starting Saturday, a near-annual ritual that islanders say is a boon to local business even if it comes with added hassles during what's typically the busiest tourist month of the year.

Local business owners — particularly those who own the restaurants, ice cream shops and book stores the family frequents — look forward to the buzz that comes from the family visiting their stores. Regular summertime residents say they've come to accept the traffic headaches that a presidential motorcade brings.

But shorter-term visitors and day trippers are less than enthused about the prospect of spending their limited time on the island navigating detours or sitting in traffic.
