LeBron James Considering Bid for NBA Players' Union President
Nothing is set in stone, but sources close to LeBron James say he is considering a run for president of the National Basketball Players Association, according to Fox News.
A source said he was "very vocal" at a meeting during All-Star weekend about wanting to see changes in the union. "There is a new executive director coming in and a new commissioner. He recognizes that this is the time for the union to change,” a source told Fox News.
The association's former president, Derek Fisher, finished his term this summer. But a source close to James says he think it is "unlikely" James will seek a run for president because he is concerned about having the time to give to the position.
“The demands on LeBron’s time are already substantial," the source said. "Whether it’s formally or informally, LeBron has strong opinions on the future of the union and will be very active in the rebuilding process.”
