Kanye West Believes His Late Mom Talks to Him Through His Daughter, North West, 10
Kanye West is opening up on his special connection with his mom through his oldest child.
The Grammy winner's mom, Donda West , died in November 2007 due to complications after a cosmetic procedure. Nearly 20 years after her death, Kanye believes she speaks to him through his 10-year-old daughter, North, via Hip Hop DX.
The admission occurred when Yeezy reflected on a moment when he and North were collaborating on music.
"I remember sitting with North in Italy and playing her ‘Back to Me,’ and asking her, ‘What do you think about this line in the middle of the song?’ And I was like, ‘Do you think I should change this?’ And she’s like, ‘You know, it’s a good song.’ Sometimes I feel like my mom speaks through her.”
He continued, “She’s like, ‘It’s a good song. This is just a banger. Like you gotta say what you feel.’ A lot of times when you go into the whole Jesus, devout… level religious, you have thoughts in your mind and that you hiding them from yourself.”
North isn't just giving her famous dad feedback; she's also following in his footsteps with her forthcoming album, "Elementary School Dropout."
The album title refers to her father’s classic debut album, “The College Dropout,” which was released in 2004.
