Here For It! Angela Bassett Is Ready To ‘Throw Down’ For A ‘Black Panther’ Sequel

Fans of the film are hype for its follow-up.

Angela Bassett is currently promoting her highly anticipated new film, Mission Impossible — Fallout, set to be released this weekend. However, fans are still buzzing about her performance in the historic Marvel film Black Panther.

The iconic actress, who played Queen Ramonda in the blockbuster film, shared with ABC News where she believes her character may go in the forthcoming sequel and just how she's going to tackle her role the second time around.

"I think she's still there in the throne room," she said of her character, who is the mother of Prince T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman. "Or she's safely ensconced in the Wakandan Palace, because we didn't see her 'poof' into ashes — her or Shuri. So mama and baby girl are going to have to right this world back together, because it was pretty much decimated... in the last Avengers."

Speaking specifically on her hopes for the Black Panther follow-up film, Bassett mentioned that she hopes Queen Ramonda will be more present and have a more active role.

"I would kid when we were working, saying, 'When we come back for [Black Panther 2], she's going to really get into the game,'" she said. "You're gonna see some of her skills and [Black Panther will] say, 'That's my mama. She's going to throw down.'"

She even gave a suggestion to the writers on how they may explain where she fostered her fighting abilities.

"I'm going to say, 'I used to be a Dora [Milaje],'" she said, referring to the all-female army that supported T'Challa in the film. "And I still have some of those moves. Don't underestimate mom!"

The Twitter community seems to share Bassett's sentiments about the Black Panther sequel as several fans of the original film have taken to social media to express their thirst for a part two:
