The Wu-Tang Clan Is Officially Releasing A New Album This Fall
Enter the 36 chambers because the clan is back. Fresh off the heels of the resurrection of their Wu Wear clothing line, Wu-Tang Clan blessed fans with a surprise track titled "People Say."
On Friday (Aug. 25), the hip hop titans released the DJ Mathematics production, boasting a guest verse from honorary member Redman, via Soundcloud. To sweeten the pot, the Staten Island collective also announced the release date of their seventh studio album Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues, due Oct. 13.
The Saga Continues marks the group's first album since their 2014 effort A Better Tomorrow as well as the inaugural release under RZA's new company, 36 Chambers ALC. In partnership with Entertainment One, the forthcoming album finds RZA maintaining his executive producer status with Mathematics, overseeing creative production for the LP.
Earlier today Wu-Tang teased the album's arrival via Twitter. “For years, Math has had the idea of putting together a body of music using modern and legendary equipment such as ASR10 with vocal performances by Wu-Tang Clan members and other prominent MCs," RZA said of the project. "With The Saga Continues he’s created a masterpiece. We at 36 Chambers ALC are honored to work with Mathematics and Wu-Tang Clan to put out a great piece of art.”
The Saga Continues is expected to be a star-studded affair featuring contributions from Wu members including Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspektah Deck, and Masta Killa, as well as verses from the dearly departed ODB. While it's unclear whether ODB's vocals were previously recorded they'll surely pack a punch. In addition to the legendary roster, the late Sean Price has also earned a guest spot on the album.
