Migos Involved in Drive-By Shooting
An early morning freeway shootout between Migos and an unidentified gunman left a group member wounded, reports the Miami Herald.
The shooting occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Florida's stretch of the I-95 highway. The rap trio and five others were driving back to their South Beach hotel when a black vehicle pulled up beside their black Mercedes van and opened fire. "They were supposed to be performing at Cafe Iguanas in Broward and apparently...there was an altercation or disagreement with management and they didn't perform," said Florida Highway Patrol trooper Joe Sanchez. "As they were driving southbound on I-95, according to the witnesses in the van, a dark vehicle pulled alongside them and opened fire,"
One of the passengers in the Migos van returned fire at the vehicle. "A member of the group was in possession of his personal handgun and he returned fire," Sanchez said. The injured party has not been identified, and the shooter who targeted Migos has yet to be apprehended.
Authorities believe that roughly 12 shots were fired, but a manager for the rappers told TMZ, "There was at least 40 rounds being blasted on those n----s." The site also says that the shooting victim was a bodyguard. Police have confiscated the bullet-riddled van as part of the investigation.
Migos member Offset tweeted this morning, "Tired To Hit Me Up In Traffic??….But I Had To Work My Magic!!"
The "Versace" rhymers were scheduled for a club appearance in Florida tonight that has been nixed, "due to Circumstances out of our control," the group announced on Twitter.
