Future's Comments About R. Kelly Will Make You Slap Your Forehead In Shame

If only it were that simple, Fewtch.

Future swung through Power 106 to chop it up with the hosts of The Cruz Show on Wednesday (January 9) to talk all things (well, almost all) The WIZRD, his forthcoming studio album slated for a January 18 due date.

The Atlanta trap star got candid about a few industry topics too, including his co-writing cred, possible Lady Gaga collaborations, his planned documentary and music’s current hot button controversy, R. Kelly. J Cruz posed the question of whether Fewtch would get in the studio with the shamed R&B singer—though Cruz is a little late to the party considering Future’s already done so with his Pied Piper-assisted “Parachute” record of 2012. Don’t tell that to Fewtch in 2019 though, who pulled a Mariah Carey when asked about the Chicago artist.

  • ‘Man, who is that?’ Future responded…

“I thought we had forgot about that? We giving it too much attention.” According to Fewtch, the only reason Kelly still has the relevancy he does today is because we’ve been giving him “too much attention.” When that happens, he theorized, things blow up—a possible reference to news of Kelly’s spiked music sales after the release of Surviving R. Kelly. “If you stop talking about it, it'll go away,” Future said.

  • When asked about whether the controversy was ‘fake outrage,’ Future said he didn’t know, however

But to him, one thing’s for sure: “It’s just too many people talking about it.” He believes “whatever is supposed to be done” with Kelly should happen “behind the scenes,” and the attention—even though it's negative—only makes things worse.

*Deep sigh* If only it were that simple, Fewtch.
