An Alabama man has turned himself in to the police after being identified as a suspect in a viral child pornography video that was shared on Facebook Messenger last week. 

On Monday, arrest warrants were issued against 44-year-old Germaine Moore by the Alabama Internet Crime Against Children Task Force and Central Alabama Crime Stoppers, reported AL.com.

Moore turned himself into Millbrook police about 2:30 a.m., ICAC Lt. Brooke Walker confirmed.

"We're definitely glad he's in custody,'' Walker told AL.com Tuesday. "I"ve been doing this for 12 years, and he's the top."

In the video posted to Facebook, Moore allegedly forces a young girl, whose age has not been specified, to perform oral sex. The little girl in the video was eventually identified, located, and placed in safe care.

Moore is charged in Alabama with sexual assault of a child, distribution of video depicting the assault and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. More charges against Moore are expected, said Tony Garrett, executive director of Crime Stoppers.

Moore was wanted on 11 felony charges in Alabama and Detroit. Moore is also charged with sexually abusing three girls under the age of 13 from 2011 to 2017 is expected to be extradited to Michigan to face his charges of sexual assault, according to FOX 2 News in Michigan.

Investigators were able to identify Moore from the video after first identifying the little girl and questioning her. Her statement led to the multiple arrest warrants being issued against Moore.

In addition to investigation the sexual abuse, authorities are investigating the spread of the child pornography. Although thousands of people have share the video in an effort to identify the suspect, authorities are reminding people that sharing the video is also a child sex crime.

"This video has been shared widely on social media. As this investigation proceeds, law enforcement issues a reminder to the public that possession, dissemination or sharing of this video is a criminal act punishable under the Code of Alabama, SS13A-12-191, Dissemination or public display of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, a Class B felony; and SS13A-12-192(b), Possession and possession with intent to disseminate obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, a Class C felony."

"If you receive this video through social media, report it to the social media platform and delete it immediately,'' Garrett said. "Do not share it, as criminal charges may result."
