First there were allegations Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant got into an altercation with a would-be picture taker in church, now there is news the Chinese Basketball Association wants to pre-empt NBA temps from flooding its league.

It hasn’t quite been Bryant’s week already.

The most pressing matter, however, may be that Bryant’s plan to accept a $1.5 million a month contract to play in China during the NBA lockout may no longer be possible, according to Yahoo! Sports. It appears the Chinese Basketball Association is set to pass a rule this week that will not allow teams to give players an NBA opt-out clause.

The CBA apparently doesn’t want to diminish its league with on-loan NBA players, which means players like Bryant and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker could either find another league to play in or remain at home during the lockout.

According to the YahooSports.com story, some of the Chinese Basketball Association coaches may try to figure out ways around the stringent rule. If that is the case, Bryant could be welcome after all.

But as of now there is major doubt whether or not the NBA players will be allowed.

Bryant is dealing with this reality while also facing a probe into an alleged altercation at a church on Sunday. A man is claiming Bryant injured his wrist when the basketball star took a phone from him. Bryant apparently thought the guy was taking pictures of him while he used his phone. Once Bryant realized the phone had no pictures, he apparently gave it back.
