Flavor Flav Unveils Bronze Clock He Made for Jordan Chiles After She Was Ordered to Return Olympic Medal
Flavor Flav is a man of his word!
On Monday (Aug. 12), the former Public Enemy rapper took to his X (formally known as Twitter) page to share a look at the bronze clock necklace he made just for Jordan Chiles after she was ordered to return the Olympic medal she was awarded for her gymnastics floor exercise in the final on Aug. 5. In the clip, the bronze clock hung from a white string as he turned it left and right to show it off in front of an American flag.
“USA gonna Fight the Powers that be…, In the meantime between time… Imma always [be] a man of my word @ChilesJordan,” he captioned the video, referencing Public Enemy’s hit song “Fight the Power.”
In response to the video, Jordan's mom, Gina Chiles, tweeted, "Thank you. Means the world. She's not on socials right now as you can imagine. I'll share it with her."
This comes just one day after Flavor Flav offered to make the custom piece for the gymnast amid the controversy. “Imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE… and that’s something NO ONE else has!!! Hit me up, my girl… I gotchu!!!” he tweeted.
As previously reported by BET, on Monday (Aug. 12), USA Gymnastics announced that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) denied the appeal made by U.S. coach Cecile Landito to reinstate Jordan’s bronze medal. Chiles was stripped of the medal and it was given to her Romanian competitor, Ana Bărbosu.
