Water polo gained an unlikely supporter at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games: Flavor Flav.

The legendary rapper made headlines this month by volunteering to sponsor the United States women’s water polo Olympic team. He has since been spotted at their games, cheering on his team while wearing a custom Team USA water polo cap and a matching clock necklace.

While at the Games, Flavor Flav spoke with “Good Morning America” as their hype man, saying, "I'm known to be the greatest hype man in America, the first, the original. I said, let me take my expertise to the water polo team."

The former reality TV star admitted, "I never even thought that Flavor Flav and water polo would go together—so I put it together."

He also stated, “Women's sports I feel should be paid attention to more," and has since committed to supporting the team for five years with an undisclosed amount of financial support.

The 65-year-old’s generosity extended further this week. Early Thursday morning, Vanderbilt track and field star Veronica Fraley took to X, revealing, “I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent.” She added, “My school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything),” and complained about the disparity in compensation.

Upon seeing Fraley’s post, Flavor Flav responded, “I gotchu,,, DM me and I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry about it TOMORROW,,, and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETZ GO,!!!”

He later followed up with a photo showing he had made contact with Fraley, adding, “Man of word,,, and Imma try and come by and support you in person tomorrow ,,, LMK what time.”
