Matt Kemp: Rihanna and I are Still Friends
Ballplayer Matt Kemp isn't singing a sad song over the end of his relationship with Rihanna. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder tells Us Weekly that he and his ex--who split in December 2010--are still on good terms. "We've all got busy lives and we're working on our careers and concentrating on our careers. I wish her all the best of luck and she wishes me all the best of luck," he said.
Kemp and RiRi had a potentially awkward run-in on their hands when they both showed up at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on July 13, but they kept it civil. In fact, Matt made it clear to the media that he's on the hunt for a new girl. His ideal lady, he says, has "nice shoes, great teeth, good smile and good skin." He adds, "It doesn't matter [if they're famous or not], as long as they have a good heart and a good head on her shoulders." That certainly describes Rihanna to a T.
After the drama-filled demise of her last relationship, we're happy that Rihanna and Matt were able to let go gracefully--though we're pretty sure neither will remain lonely for long.
