Ja Rule Announces New Album, Genius Loves Company
The past 15 years have been full of highs, lows, challenges and triumphs for Queens rapper Ja Rule. But he is relentless and dedicated to making a comeback in the industry he dominated from the late '90s through the early new millennium.
After releasing his telling memoir, Unruly, The Highs and Lows of Becoming a Man, last week, Ja announced another new chapter: the release of a new album.
"It's called Genius Loves Company. You know, we workin'. I'm not in no rush," Rule told Hip Hop Vibe. "I want to make sure the music is right, the timing is right," he continued. "What the fans don't understand about this business is that timing is everything."
This is Rule's first album since he released Pain Is Love 2, while serving a 28-month sentence, which began in July 2011. Although he addressed many of his issues in his memoirs, including his beef with 50 Cent, outing Fif as a snitch and claiming to have beat up the Guerilla Unit boss during the height of their disdain, in addition to making amends with his Murder Inc. crew including Ashanti and Irv Gotti, surely Ja still has a lot to get off his chest with GLC.
But fans will have to wait until 2015 for Genius Loves Company because Rule is focusing on other "big projects." He will be flexing his acting chops again and is currently working on a film with Queen Latifah, which he said will be released within the next year.
Rule also announced that he has a new TV show in the works in addition to "producing a few TV shows" as well. It looks like fans will be seeing a lot from Ja Rule in the year to come.
