People Are Calling This Woman Mom Of The Year For Making Her Son Do Free Yard Work After He Got Suspended From School
A mother in Shreveport, Louisiana, is being celebrated by parents around the world for the way she disciplined her son when he was suspended from school for three days.
When Demetris Payne learned her son would not be able to go to school for three days due to behavior, she decided he would make the most of those days by doing free yard work for those in the community, reported KSLA.
"My son has been suspended for three days from school for discipline. He will do your lawn service, he will rake your yard, mow if you supply the mower, pick up trash, or wash your car for free. Maximum three hours. If anyone has a rake they would like to donate will be awesome,” Payne posted in the South Bossier Online Yard Sale Facebook group.
Once she made the post, Payne received so many requests for her son to work, she had to make a schedule that went all the way to the next weekend.
"He's booked up for this weekend, so it'll be next weekend. I got so many requests from buy, sell, and trade that I have to make a schedule," she wrote in the comments section.

She also included a post from his last yard completed
Payne told KSLA that she has tried other methods of discipline, such as taking away TV, in the past.
“So we said, ‘What else will work? Let’s let him do some work,’” Payne said.
