Charlie Sheen's New Lionsgate Show

The actor's second chance.

Ashton Kutcher might've taken Charlie Sheen's "Two And a Half Men" spot, but he still may be winning.

The actor has reportedly signed a new sitcom deal with Lionsgate Television and there may even be a bidding war where Sheen could make even more money, according to Radar Online.

"Charlie has inked a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom,” an insider said. “Charlie's character will be very similar to the one he played on 'Two And a Half Men,' however the show will be a lot racier.

"Networks and cable are bidding on the show right now, with TBS being the front runner," the insider continued. "TBS recently expanded their comedy division with the acquisition of 'The Conan O'Brien Show' after his fall out with NBC. Plus cable makes more sense because it offers more creative freedom."

It appears that Lionsgate Television would produce Sheen's new vehicle.

"They have committed to ten episodes up front with the option to pick-up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful," the insider continued. "This means the sitcom could be on TV for eight years, which is a long time! It also means that Charlie will make more money than ever before!"

While Charlie won't be paid the $2 million per episode that he received on "Two and a Half Men," he will garner a higher back-end deal. This means the longer the show runs, the he could make, even more than his previous CBS pay check.

"Charlie will make less upfront which is a plus for Lionsgate ... this way Lionsgate is less at risk of losing money should the show flop or should Charlie have some sort of  meltdown," the insider concluded.

Lionsgate Television also plans to release Sheen's national stage tour, "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option," though it is unclear what form the release will take.
