Tiffany Haddish Reacts to Ex-Boyfriend Common's New Romance with Jennifer Hudson
Tiffany Haddish is sharing her thoughts about her ex-boyfriend's new relationship.
On Wednesday, the "Girls Trip" star appeared on the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast to discuss her new book, "I Curse You With Joy." She also opened up on Common's new romance with Jennifer Hudson, as reported by PEOPLE.
"I love Jennifer,” Haddish, 44, told Hoda Kotb. “I hope they’re having fun. Girl, please.”
The comedian also teased "there's a lot of common men" in her new memoir, but her former flame, Common, is "not in" it.
After meeting on the set of "The Kitchen" in 2019 and becoming friends, Haddish and Common's relationship elevated when they started dating in 2020. They called it quits a year later, but she told The Washington Post, "It wasn't mutual. It was more him saying, 'I think this relationship has run its course.'"
While speaking to Kotb, Haddish delved into their breakup. "It’s like, you remember when you was a kid and you’d be on a play date, and y’all like playing, having a good time, and then all of a sudden, y’all like sliding down the slide, and then you turn around and go, ‘Where did they go? Where did they — where’d they go?’"
"And you see them waving at you and they mama carrying them. And they’re like, ‘Byeee.’ That’s what it was like,"
Since then, Common has moved on.
After much dating speculation, he and Jennifer Hudson have become a thing. The "Glory" hitmaker even appeared on the singer's talk show where he talked about their relationship.
"I'm in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life," he explained. "She's smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she's talented."
He said that he had set his standards "high" with the special woman and that she was an EGOT winner.
In 2022, Hudson was crowned with the revered EGOT status following her Tony win for "A Strange Loop."
