Big Sean Drops Powerful Video for 'One Man Can Change the World'
Big Sean’s “One Man Can Change the World” is a song dedicated to his grandmother. The record, which appeared on his last album, Dark Sky Paradise, stands out because of its lyrics, specifically on how she raised him. Today, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper releases a compelling video that is pretty timely considering the news surrounding the Charleston Massacre.
In the clip, a younger version of Sean is watching riots on TV as well as witnessing the gang violence happening around his neighborhood. Instead of succumbing to America’s problems, Sean decides that he wants to change it. Through the guidance of his grandmother, he shows us how he’s grown from her passing and that he has more to achieve in his life.
Sean's doing the same in reality, too. Thursday (June 18), his Detroit-based Sean Anderson Foundation hosted its first annual “Uplifting Our Youth” Scholarship Fundraiser Event to help local public school students pay for college. He kicked off the day by donating a $25,000 scholarship.
Not a bad way to end a week that also included the launch of his European tour, which wraps up July 5th, just in time for him to hit the road with J. Cole for the Forest Hills Drive jaunt. Sean's Dark Sky Paradise debuted at No. 1 last year, and his single "IDFWU" is nominated for a Video of the Year trophy at this year's BET Awards.
