The Native American community isn't laughing at Adam Sandler's jokes. The actor, known to ruffle feathers with his sometimes culturally-insensitive humor, offended a group of Native American actors on the set of his latest film, The Ridiculous Six, Indian Country Today Media Network reports. 
The actors reportedly walked off the set after learning the names of some of the film’s characters, among them Beaver’s Breath and No Bra. A female Native American character was also supposed to be depicted urinating while smoking a peace pipe.

Despite the presence of an advisor on Native American culture, the outlet says that the producers brushed off the actors’ concerns. “Nothing has changed,” says Navajo actress Allison Young, who was among those who left the set. “We are still just Hollywood Indians.”

Netflix, which is producing the film as the first in an exclusive content deal with Sandler, defended the film in a statement. “The movie has ‘ridiculous’ in the title for a reason,” a spokesperson wrote in an email. “It is a broad satire of western movies and the stereotypes they popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only part of — but in on — the joke.”
