Everyone’s Debating If Trump Forgot Melania Was Next To Him While Speaking About Hurricane Relief
The words that come out of Donald Trump’s mouth often confuse us and have us thinking, "Is he really still the president?"
That happened again recently. While speaking in Fort Myers, Florida about the disaster that Hurricane Irma’s been for Puerto Rico (and his response to it), Trump forgot that his own wife was not only with him during his trip to the Sunshine State, she was standing right next to him.
“I just want to thank everybody – the first responders, on behalf of myself, the vice president,” he said. “Melania really wanted to be with us, it’s really touched her heart what’s gone on.”
Ok, maybe he was just speaking for her and said it in the literal sense, but if that’s the case, why can’t she express her fondness for being part of the relief effort if that’s actually true?
Regardless, Twitter had a field day with this one. “This is hilarious but at what point is it proof of dementia and unfitness,” someone tweeted. “I legit feel bad for his wife,” another person wrote.
