Netflix Unveils Teaser Trailer for Dave Chappelle’s Upcoming Standup Special
Comedian Dave Chappelle is wrapping up the year with another Netflix special.
On Wednesday (Dec. 7 ), the streaming giant released its teaser trailer for the controversial comedian’s upcoming stand-up special. In the 24-second clip, Chappelle's "C" logo illuminates as Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman announces, "He's back, folks," before the words "DAVE IS BACK” appear on screen.
Netflix Is a Joke, the official account of Netflix's comedy brand — formerly known as Netflix Comedy — captioned the post, “Dave Chappelle's latest comedy special will launch globally on Netflix, December 31st.”
The upcoming event, whose title has not yet been released, will mark Chappelle’s seventh special and the first in three years following his controversial performance in “The Closer.”
During that show, the veteran comedian made remarks that many people found transphobic, leading to significant backlash and an employee walkout at Netflix.
