Keri Hilson and Akon Model For Fashion Against AIDS
Keri Hilson and Akon are two of the artists behind H&M's latest Fashion Against AIDS collection. This year's line is unisex, a point that Hilson finds particularly significant. "I love what it represents - AIDS knows no gender, the fact that the clothing it caters to men, it caters to women, to young girls, to young boys."
For Akon the chance to participate in the campaign was personal. “I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV. As I travel the world, I see how much HIV affects people. It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention."
H&M will donate 25% of sales to various international HIV/AIDS prevention organizations. The new line is available April 26th.
