Cam Newton Is Getting Slammed For Making This Sexist Comment To A Female Reporter
Cam Newton is at the center of controversy after his remarks towards a female reporter yesterday.
When Charlotte Observer beat reporter Jourdan Rodrigue asked the Carolina Panthers quarterback about the team's wide receiver Devin Funchess welcoming the physicality of routes, Newton smirked before saying, "it's funny to hear a female talk about routes like ... it's funny.''
Wow. Well, Newton was immediately slammed for his comment, which people called sexist. That being said, there were those who didn't think Cam's comment was sexist at all. It all made for several hot takes on Twitter.

The Charlotte Observer's Panthers' beat writer clapped back with these tweets
ESPN reported that the Panthers' director of communications, Steven Drummond, said that he spoke with both Newton and Rodrigue, and that the star QB expressed regret, but Rodrigue denied ever receiving an apology.
"This afternoon, I did my job as an NFL beat writer and asked Cam Newton a question about one of his receivers. I was dismayed by his response, which not only belittled me but countless other women before me and beside me who work in similar jobs," Rodrigue said, as reported by ESPN. "I sought Mr. Newton out as he left the locker room a few minutes later. He did not apologize for his comments."
Immediately, Cam's comments were described as everything from 'sexist' to 'demeaning'
