Cissy Houston Releases New Music

Whitney Houston’s mother puts out first material in over a decade.

Cissy Houston, mother to the late pop superstar Whitney Houston, released a new four-song EP to iTunes on Tuesday — her first collection in over a decade.
A gospel singer in her own right, Cissy won a Grammy for her 1996 album Face To Face and served as a back-up singer for Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin in her early career.
The new EP, titled Walk on by Faith, was released by Harlem Records. Cissy's last album, Love Is Holding You, debuted in 2001 and featured collaborations with her daughter.

With the exception of one exclusive interview, Cissy has stayed out of the public eye since the death of her daughter.
