Chief Keef Probation Hearing Delayed
Chief Keef, still on probation for pointing a gun at a police officer in 2011, will have his next hearing before a judge on Jan. 28, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Prosecutors are seeking to have the 18-year-old rap phenomenon placed in juvenile detention or under house arrest due to alleged probation violations.
Keef, who is banned from handling firearms as a part of his probation, was seen shooting guns at a gun range in New York in a video posted online by Pitchfork Media. The video, which was subsequently pulled from the Internet and recently handed over to prosecutors, will be played at the hearing.
Prosecutors for Chicago's Cook County, as well as Judge Carl Anthony Walker, have previously expressed their belief that Keef should be taken off the streets both for his own safety and to send a message to other young scofflaws. Meanwhile, the "I Don't Like" rapper's debut album Finally Rich was released to stores yesterday.
