This New Duo Out of L.A. Just Got a Major Co-Sign by Ebro
Earlier this week on Ebro’s block for Apple Music’s Beats 1, the voice of New York shared insider news on a new duo he’s been feeling lately.
“When we say THEY., we mean ‘them,'” he said jokingly. But in all seriousness, he's excited about them.
THEY. are two producer-songwriters who formed a group together after connecting through mutual goals in music. Drew and Dante wanted to create a sound that’s boundary pushing. Influenced by a wide range of names (Taking Back Sunday, Kurt Cobain, Babyface and New Edition), the pair decided to make a group off the strength that they write music in a similar fashion.
THEY. just released their debut EP, Nu Religion, which you can stream below. Ebro premiered two songs — “Motley Crue” and “Bad Habits” — on Beats 1 that are a refreshing mix of pop, hip hop and R&B. The EP is the first installment of a three-part EP releasing soon.
THEY. are the third signing to a new label based in L.A. called Mind of a Genius. It’s home to other names to watch out for such as Gallant and ZHU, who recently collaborated with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and Trombone Shorty for “Hold Up.”
