Nick Cannon Says He Has No Beef With Eminem
Nick Cannon went on Big Boy’s Neighborhood morning show on Los Angeles' Power 106 to finally smooth out his rift with rapper Eminem.
Cannon explained that the situation was never as serious as it might of seemed and shares that he’s completely over the drama, which started in 2009 when Em dissed Cannon's wife, Mariah Carey, on the song "Bagpipes From Baghdad."
“At the time I was hot,” shares Cannon. “It wasn’t even that I was really upset. I just thought that as a man you can’t really disrespect someone else’s family.... I can’t let anybody just disrespect my wife and me not react. So it wasn’t even that. I didn’t lose it. I wasn’t angry. I was just like ‘Nah, you need to have a man to man’ but at this point it’s, like, silly. It went way past whatever it was going to be. Like, I’m in such a wonderful place in my life.”
When asked about his grandfather, who publicly poked fun at him for going tit for tat with Em, Nick had this to say: “He a old school cat and he didn’t really like it that much. But really it just shined light on how silly the whole situation was. Like beef? We know what beef is. That wasn’t beef. That was just people talking back and forth.”
Taking questions about Eminem in stride, the 30-year-old entertainer ended the discussion on a light-hearted note, “I forgive you Marshall.”
Cannon and wife Mariah Carey recently welcomed twin babies Monroe and Moroccan into the world in late April.
