Chicago Gun Violence: 2 Dead, 12 Wounded This Past Weekend
Two people were killed and at least 12 others were wounded in gun violence across the city of Chicago this past weekend, according to NBC Chicago.
Michael Bloodson Jr., 17, was identified as the victim in a shooting that took place in the Bronzeville neighborhood in the South Side of the city, according to the Chicago Tribune. He died Saturday afternoon after being shot multiple times, including being struck in the head. The boy was taken to a nearby medical center, where he was pronounced dead.
Another man, Charles Labon, 28, was shot near One Way Missionary Baptist Church in North Lawndale on Sunday afternoon. A gunman shot Labon in the chest. He tried to run away but stumbled and fell on the ground as the armed man fled, the Tribune reports.
There have been 303 people shot dead in Chicago in 2014, according to data collected by Red Eye Chicago.
