D'Angelo's Prince Tribute Was So Fitting
In one of the most moving Prince tributes since the singer's death late last week, D’Angelo performed “Sometimes It Snows in April” on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
During the almost seven-minute rendition of the famed song from the 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon, the Voodoo singer, accompanied by Princess, poured their heart into a performance that had everyone talking.
The Roots, who serve as the show’s in-house band, have a long history in collaborating with D’Angelo.
Prince passed away Thursday at his home in Paisley Park, Minnesota. He was hospitalized last Friday (April 15) after his private plane made an emergency landing in Illinois. He had been fighting the flu, however things seemed to be looking upward as he threw a party at his estate just a day after returning home from the hospital. He was 57 years old.
