You’ll Never Guess Why Kanye West Had To Shut Down Kim Kardashian

The reason is both petty and hilarious.

Back in June, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian-West and their family kicked off season four of Celebrity Family Feud, hosted by comedian-turned-author Steve Harvey. Ye and Kim both swore to be die-hard fans as well as the entire family. He and Kim brought along three of his cousins to play for Team West while Kris Jenner, her mother, Mary Jo (lovingly referred to as MJ), Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, cousin Cici Bussey and Kim’s noted best friend, Jonathan Cheban, played for Team Kardashian.

While introducing Team Kardashian, it’s obvious that something is off. Steve points out that Kris and MJ would play as one since this team has one extra member than the show’s standard.

  • Around the 3:20 mark, Steve mentions that there was a family feud of their own backstage, and it could only be settled by having all six members present for the show

Steve, then, states, "That's it. We do not have to explain to why that is." But that didn't stop inquiring minds from wondering.

  • In a new clip that's surfaced, we now know exactly what that backstage feud was about

It was assumed that Mary Jo wasn't well enough to play. Therefore, Kim's bestie flew to her rescue to fill in that spot since Kris "couldn't afford a hit-or-miss."

Kim fires back, saying, "We have to kick someone off of [Kanye's] team." As any rational being would respond, Ye said, "For Jonathan?! I'm not finna kick any of my family members off of TV. Their first time on TV for Jonathan? [He's] on TV all the time."

  • Khloé even inquires as to why the Jonathan issue is such a big deal. Ye curtly said, 'I love Jonathan,' but his team wasn't about to change because of him

  • Thankfully, their verbal sparring didn't affect them winning big for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles because apparently, it's always been Ye's dream to play 'Fast Money'

Guess the Wests took a note from the Carters' playbook — nobody wins when the family feuds.
