Is Rapper Flavor Flav the New Colonel Sanders?
Reality TV celebrity and Public Enemy hypeman Flavor Flav is making a big career change—to fried chicken king. The wacky star opened a fried chicken eatery in Clinton, Iowa, on Monday.
The restaurant is called Flavor Flav’s Chicken (FFC). The New York Daily News reports that Flav will be bringing New York–style fried chicken to the small town of 26,000. “I ain't gonna lie, Flav said. “This is way out there." According to the rapper, the idea stemmed from the 99-cent wings he served at the eatery Mama Cimino in Las Vegas. And given his reported culinary degree, well, a Flav-ed theme chicken spot was the best way to go.
Flav’s business partner is the restaurant’s owner.
In 2004, Flav, born William Drayton Jr., made the leap from music to TV when he starred in the third season of Surreal Life, which he spun off into his own hit reality show, Flavor of Love.
