Oprah and Shamed Author James Frey to Meet Again

Five years later, the talk show host will interview Frey over two episodes.

Fans of The Oprah Winfrey Show surely remember 2006's controversial episode in which she publicly shamed author James Frey for lying about his supposed memoir, "A Million Little Pieces," and those who never watched the televised tongue-lashing probably heard the story through the grapevine. The book, which garnered much attention after Winfrey picked it for her popular book club, detailed Frey's run-in with the cops, jail time and other wild stories about his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. Unfortunately, some key moments in the book never happened at all.

"You conned us all," she said to Frey and his publisher Nan Talese. "It's embarrassing and disappointing for me."

Now five years after she called him out for decieving her and the public, Winfrey will interview Frey once again over the course of two episodes airing May 16 and 17. Although she has since apologized to him for how she treated him on that fateful day and explained how her ego was bruised and she felt betrayed, it'll be interesting to see what else they have to say to each other.
