Former President Trump Set to Attend Upcoming NABJ Convention in Chicago

Vice President Kamala Harris was also invited.

Former President Donald Trump is set to visit Chicago this week for a question-and-answer session at the National Association of Black Journalists Annual Convention & Career Fair, a move that has elicited mixed emotions from many.

ABC News senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott, Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner, and Semafor politics reporter Kadia Goba will moderate the discussion. The agenda includes “pressing questions” to the twice-impeached former president on issues impacting the Black community.

In a press release ahead of the private event, NABJ President Ken Lemon stated, “We look forward to our attendees hearing from former President Trump on the critical issues our members and their audiences care about most.”

The statement continued, “While NABJ does not endorse political candidates as a journalism organization, we understand the serious work of our members and welcome the opportunity for them to ask the tough questions that will provide the truthful answers Black Americans want and need to know.”

Vice President Kamala Harris has also been invited to the NABJ Convention, but organizers have stated that her attendance is yet to be confirmed.
