Bill Cosby attempts to purchase NBC.
Bill Cosby made a bid to buy the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). NBC parent company General Election would later decline, arguing the network was not for sale. Cosby would make a second bid the following year. His landmark sitcom, “The Cosby Show” ran on the network from 1984 until 1992.
