Chicago Gun Violence: 3 Dead, 25 Shot This Past Weekend
At least three people were killed this past weekend in Chicago. A 15-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, was the youngest of the fatalities. He was struck in the back Sunday afternoon in a possible drive-by shooting, police told the Chicago Tribune.
On Saturday afternoon, a 32-year-old man was shot while he was sitting in a vehicle, attempted to drive away and crashed his vehicle. Charles Lee was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to DNAinfo Chicago. The third reported victim was Kendall Floyd, 20. He was gunned down near his home on Saturday.
There were 26 other people injured in the past three days from gun violence in the Windy City. Data from Red Eye Chicago shows that in 2014, 98 people have died from gunshots. This continues to be the leading cause of homicides in Chicago.
