To chants of RG3, Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III was chosen as the No. 2 draft pick by the Washington Redskins.
The Indianapolis Colts picked Andrew Luck as their No. 1 pick in the NFL draft Thursday. He will replace Peyton Manning as quarterback.
In order to score Griffin, Washington traded its second-round draft pick for this year and its first-round picks for 2013 and 2014. Only time will tell if RG3 will be a boom or a bust. In addition, not an hour before the draft began, the Cleveland Browns traded deeper picks with the Minnesota Vikings, who in turn received picks in the fourth, fifth and seventh rounds.
Griffin beat out Luck for the Heisman Trophy and as Luck stood on the stage to receive his new jersey from commissioner Roger Goodell, Griffin fans chanted RG3.
Just as they had earlier enthusiastically cheered Griffin, fans booed Goodell, perhaps as a reminder that they are still upset about last year's contentious contract talks.
Here are the remaining top 10 picks:
University of Southern California offensive tackle Matt Kalil was selected as the fourth overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings.
Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Louisiana State cornerback Morris Claiborne was selected as the sixth overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys.
Alabama safety Mark Barron was selected as the seventh overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill was selected as the eighth overall pick by the Miami Dolphins.
Boston College inside linebacker Luke Kuechly was selected as the ninth overall pick by the North Carolina Panthers.
South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore was selected as the 10th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills.
