Adele’s Tour Rescheduled

After battling laryngitis, the “Rolling in the Deep” songstress adds new dates to her North American performances.

For the past 10 weeks, British singer Adele has been sitting pretty atop the music charts with her single “Rolling in the Deep” and the release of her new album 21, which has been #1 for the eight weeks. The sophomore effort, which is already double platinum, has proven a success for the 21-year-old singer who took the music world by storm late 2007 with her sultry and powerful voice. While she was constantly compared to her U.K. counterpart Amy Winehouse, Adele carved her own path with a sound resembling more soul-digging and Why Did I Get Married actress/singer Jill Scott (who’s fourth album The Light of the Sun dropped this week) than troubled bluesy singer Billie Holiday.

After canceling tour dates earlier this month due to a bad bout of laryngitis—surely a singer’s a worst nightmare—Columbia Records announced the songbird will hit the stage in the U.S. from the months of August to October. According to CNN, the record label released a statement saying, “The new tour will include stops in six additional cities including Las Vegas, NV, Atlantic City, NJ, Durham, NC, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL and Spring, TX.”

With a new Jill album and Adele back on track to tour, the summer instantly seems so much sexier.
