A day that started out with a Twitter tirade against Wale ended on a more positive note for Meek Mill. On Tuesday (July 8) afternoon Meek visited the neighborhood where a blaze three days earlier claimed the lives of four children.

"It feels good to have him show up for us and to know that he cares," said Comfort Bowah, the elder sister of 4-year-old twins, Maria and Marialla Bowah, both killed in the fire. "He came to show us love when other people won't do it and I'm happy that he did that for us." 

The 27-year-old Philly-born rapper toured the area and spoke with family members of the young victims. "I just wanted to come by and show my support to all of the families and everybody that was hurt by this situation," he said. "I feel I'm in a position where I can help these people. Anything I can do to help them with their losses, I'm gonna do it."

Philly fire officials have been criticized for what was said to be a slow response to the inferno. The fire started roughly 0.1 miles away from the nearest fire station. In response to the allegations, the fire commissioner released a time line of the department's response to the emergency. Brothers Patrick Sanyeah Jr., 4, and 1-month-old Taj Jacque died as well. By the time help arrived, the fire spread to four homes, officials said.

As for Meek, he wasn't just stopping through the neighborhood. He plans to donate money to the victim's families.
