Kim Kardashian Speaks Out About Divorce
Kim Kardashian is finally telling her side of the divorce story. Soon after the news broke out Monday that she filed for divorce 72 days after marrying basketball player Kris Humphries, Kardashian flew to Australia on a business trip. On Tuesday, she wrote a letter to her fans to explain the situation and quell rumors, saying she's "a hopeless romantic" who was following her heart, but might have "rushed in to something too soon."
“I am trying not to read all the different media reports but it’s hard not to see all the negative ones,” Kardashian writes on her website. “First and foremost, I married for love. I can’t believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!”
The reality TV star explained that she already shares so much of her life on television and that publicizing her wedding on E!'s wedding special in October is just how her family functions.
“We filmed Kourtney giving birth, Khloe getting married, break ups, make ups, our best moments and our worst moments,” she writes. “These were all real moments. That’s what makes us who we are. We share, we give, we love and we are open!”
Kardashian also acknowledges that all the media attention and cameras might have caused her lapse in judgment and made her go along with something she no longer believed in.
“I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have," she continues. "I got caught up with the hoopla and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn’t know how to and didn’t want to disappoint a lot of people.”
She also addressed rumors that she made millions off her wedding by saying those "reports are simply not true" and that she will be donating money from her gifts to the Dream Foundation.
