Zulu Nation Issues Statement On Afrika Bambaataa Child Molestation Allegations
Yesterday (March 31) some very serious allegations were made against Afrika Bambaataa, the founder of Universal Zulu Nation, raising all sorts of questions and concerns for such a pioneering influence within the hip-hop community.
Ronald Savage, a politician from the Bronx, N.Y., came forward with claims that Bambaataa had molested him when he was a young teen.
In a statement, King Kamonzi, the International Spokesman for the Universal Zulu Nation, has denied all claims on behalf of Bambaataa and demanded an apology from Savage in a lengthy statement.
“By all accounts, Mr. Savage, please stop lying to the public and openly apologize to Africa Bambaataa/Universal Zulu Nation and all children world wide,” Kamonzi wrote in the statement. “Not only have you disrespected morally, spiritually and emotionally, but now there are serious legal issues that come into play as well. The Universal Zulu Nation works with victims of child and sexual abuse and takes these allegations extremely serious.”
Looks like this is just the beginning of this alleged scandal.
