Fresh Prince’ Reboot, Bel-Air’ To Star Karrueche Tran, Duane Martin, Joe Holt, Among Others
TV streaming service, Peacock, has unveiled more of the cast members that will be starring in the upcoming dramatic reimagining of Bel-Air after premiering a trailer last week (Jan. 10).
Per Deadline, the drama series reboot of Will Smith’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
will feature Karrueche Tran, Duane Martin, Joe Holt, April Parker Jones, SteVonté Hart, Scottie Thompson, and Charlie Hall to round out the cast for rebooted series.
Tran will play a social media influencer named Ivy who helps Hilary with her influencer business, while Martin will play Philip Banks’ campaign manager Steven Lewis, as he run for LA District
Attorney. Holt, on the other hand, will play Fred Wilkes, the Police Chief and Lisa’s father, while Parker Jones will play Viola ‘Vy’ Smith, Will’s mother and Aunt Viv’s older sister.
Hart will be bringing Will’s best friend and basketball teammate from West Philly, Tray Melbert, to life. Thompson plays Angela, an interior designer newly married to Police Chief and Lisa’s father, Fred Wilkes. Finally, Hall will play Tyler Laramy, a member of the Bel-Air Academy basketball team.
They will be joining Jabari Banks as Will, Adrian Holmes as Uncle Phil, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, Cassandra Freeman as Aunt Viv, Coco Jones as Hilary, Jordan L. Jones as Jazz, Simone Joy Jones as Lisa, Akira Akbar as Ashley and Olly Sholotan as Carlton.
Brought to life by Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal Television and directed, co-written, and executively produced by Morgan Cooper, the popular fan reimagining will premiere on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 13, with the first three episodes at launch and new episodes released weekly on Peacock.
