Lil Boosie Trial: Alleged Hitman Changes Story
On the third day of testimony in the murder trial against rapper Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch, the man he allegedly hired to kill rival Terry Boyd took the stand.
According to The Advocate, Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding, who in May 2010 confessed to shooting Boyd on behalf of Boosie, told the court today (May 7) that he didn't commit the murder. Louding alleges police forced him into making the initial confession by threatening his family’s safety.
Famous for his hits with fellow Baton Rouge rapper Webbie such as "Wipe Me Down" and "Independent," Boosie is accused of paying Louding $2,800 to murder Boyd in 2009 to settle a music rivalry. The 29-year-old hip hop star is on trial for first-degree murder.
Recently, a judge ruled that some of Boosie's lyrics can be used against him in the trial, which began last week. Prosecutors have listed 30 potential witnesses who may be called to testify against Boosie.
